OnePlus 13 China launch confirmed: When is it launching in India?

OnePlus has officially announced its next-in-line flagship phone of the season — OnePlus 13. The upcoming phone will debut in China on October 31. The company has teased the design and colour details of the device. OnePlus 13 will arrive in three-colour options: Obsidian Black, While Dune, and Blue Moment. The release in the Chinese market is an indication that the phone will hit the global market soon. Similarly, the OnePlus 13 launch in India is also fast approaching. Looking at the traditions, the OnePlus 13 might enter India in January 2025. However, we are still waiting for the official notification to come.
As OnePlus 13 is ready to debut in China, the Indian audience is eager to know when the flagship phone will hit the Indian market. While there is no official information so far, the speculations are that the OnePlus 13 will come to India in January 2025. To understand better, let’s trace the footsteps of the company. The OnePlus 12 was launched in China in December 2023, and it came to India in January 2024. It is true that, for the next flagship phone, OnePlus 13 is coming to town a little earlier than its predecessor, but it is unlikely that OnePlus India will launch the device this year.
One of the major reasons for the OnePlus 13 India launch in January 2025 is that it has only been 10 months since the last flagship launch. Smartphone companies usually follow an annual pattern of releasing flagships. But this is mere speculation. The actual launch details will be out soon.
A recent leak on the Chinese social media platform Weibo suggests that the OnePlus 13 will launch at a price of CNY 5,299 for the 16GB RAM+512GB storage model, marking a CNY 500 increase from its predecessor. The OnePlus 12 at CNY 4,799 for the same variant. While no leaks regarding the India variant of the OnePlus 13 have surfaced yet, a similar percentage increase could put the price of the upcoming device around ₹77,000, compared to the OnePlus 12’s launch price of ₹69,999.
The OnePlus 13 boasts a stylish design, featuring a micro-quad-curved display on the front and a striking circular camera module on the back, as per the images teased by the comapny. Unlike its predecessors, the camera module no longer integrates with the device’s frame. It houses three lenses and an LED flash, arranged in a square formation within a circular island, framed by a metallic ring that enhances the look and draws attention to the camera area.
The OnePlus 13 brings notable upgrades over the OnePlus 12, with one of the key improvements being its processor. The device will be among the first to incorporate Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is expected to debut at the Snapdragon Summit on October 22. Previously known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, this chip features advanced Oryon cores for enhanced performance and energy efficiency, delivering a smoother experience for multitasking, gaming, and other intensive tasks. OnePlus could even outpace rivals like Xiaomi and Oppo in releasing a phone with this cutting-edge chipset.
Battery life and fast charging, long-standing strengths of OnePlus, remain priorities in the OnePlus 13. It is rumored to include a 6,000mAh battery, a substantial increase from the 5,400mAh battery found in the previous model, offering users more extended usage. The phone is also expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, ensuring quick and convenient recharging, whether using a cable or wirelessly, with minimal downtime.
For photography enthusiasts, the OnePlus 13 is set to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with Sony’s LYT-808 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. Additionally, it will include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, offering greater versatility for capturing stunning photos.
